What text and email will my staff receive about payroll?

Your staff never log into a portal. They get a welcome email, then Teddy, the Tourney Direct text assistant, texts them a secure link to set up their pay. If they don't finish, Teddy sends reminders. After that, Teddy texts them each time they're paid.

Sent automatically when you add people and send their links on Payroll → Employees & Contractors.

The welcome email

Subject: Action needed: set up your pay with [Your Club]

It tells them:

  • A text is coming from Teddy at +1 (443) 582-0095 with a secure link to set up their pay.
  • It takes about five minutes, their information is never shared with your club, and they don't need an account or a password.
  • What to have ready: their Social Security number or ITIN, their home address and date of birth, and their bank login or account and routing numbers for direct deposit.
  • "Teddy will text you each time you're paid."
  • For help, email info@tourneydirect.com. Tourney Direct can't advise on how to fill out tax forms.

The onboarding text

Hi [First name], this is Teddy from Tourney Direct helping [Your Club] onboard staffers like you so you can get paid. Tap the link to set up your pay in a few minutes. It is secure. [secure link]

Reminders

If they haven't finished, Teddy texts a reminder with a fresh link 24, 48 and 60 hours after their link was sent, during daytime hours. Reminders stop as soon as they finish. See PR-06.

The paid text, sent to each person as soon as a payroll is approved:

Hi [Name], your pay has been approved. [amount] is on its way by direct deposit and should arrive on [pay date, for example Wednesday, October 7].

Good to know

  • Tell your staff to expect a text from Teddy at +1 (443) 582-0095. It's really Tourney Direct.
  • There's no worker portal or online pay stub. Staff hear about each payment by text.
  • Sensitive details are only ever entered on the secure link, never in a text or email.
