What do the Pay & stipend settings on my event do?

They tell your staff how and when they'll be paid, and tell us how to treat them. Pay rates aren't set here. Rates are set per person on the Coaches, Officials and Event Staff pages.

The settings (Edit this event → Pay & stipend)

Paid via TD Pay: tick it if Tourney Direct pays your staff. If you pay another way, leave it unticked and explain how in Stipend / payment information.
Stipend payment date: plain text like "August 15th" or "Within 2 weeks of the event". Staff see it on their dashboard.
Staff classification: Employee (W-2), Independent Contractor (1099), or Undecided, and we'll follow up.
Stipend type: which roles get a stipend (coaches, athletic trainers, officials, day-of-event staff).
Stipend / payment information: how staff are paid, such as "Paid by check, mailed within a week." Shown to staff as "How you'll be paid". Never put pay amounts here; everyone with the link can see it.

Good to know

Through the end of 2026, Tourney Direct handles payment approval with you directly. You won't get approval texts. Starting in 2027, payments run through Payroll. See PR-01.
