What is Teddy, and how will I hear from my assignor?

Teddy is Tourney Direct's text assistant. If you officiate for an event that uses Tourney Direct, Teddy is how you'll hear from your assignor: asking when you're available, sending your game assignments, and reminding you to check in on game day. Everything happens over regular text message. There's nothing to download and no app to log into unless you want to.

Where:

Text messages from Teddy. No app or login required.

When your assignor sends out a request, the text will introduce itself and say who it's from, something like:

Hi Jordan! This is Mike Thompson, I'm assigning officials for Spring Classic Tournament through Tourney Direct. Teddy is our AI assistant that sends texts like this one on my behalf and collects your responses for me. Teddy's reaching out now to get your availability.

So even though the message comes from Teddy's number, it's really your assignor reaching out; Teddy is just handling the back-and-forth.

What you'll use Teddy for, in order

  1. Telling Teddy when you're available to work
  2. Getting your game assignments and accepting or declining them
  3. Checking in and out on game day
