How does the Reports page know which events are the same event each year?

Each annual event is linked across years behind the scenes, so the 2024, 2025 and 2026 versions of your event are one row on the Reports page. When you Run it back from last year's event, the new event is linked automatically. Events that have only run once are listed separately as First year or Only year.

Where:

Events → Reports. Linked events are the main list. Events that have run once are under Events that have run once at the bottom.

First year vs. Only year

Label Means
First year The event's only year is this year or later, so it may run again
Only year The event ran in an earlier year and hasn't been run again

Good to know

  • One year can include more than one event. If you split an event into a Showcase and an Invitational one year and combined them the next, they still count as the same annual event.
  • Renaming an event doesn't break the link.
  • Creating next year's event with Run it back is the easiest way to keep the years linked. See E-19.
  • If two years of the same event aren't linked, or two different events are grouped together, contact support and we'll fix it.
