How do I assign officials to games?

Open the schedule from Go to Assign Officials on the Officials tab. It's a table, one row per game/field with a column for each officiating slot needed. Click + Assign on an empty slot, pick an official, choose how far to apply it, and click Apply.

Where:

Events → Officials tab → Go to Assign Officials.

Narrowing down the schedule

Use the Day, Complex, and Coverage controls at the top. Coverage lets you filter to just "Gaps only" (slots still needing someone) or "Fully staffed" games.

To assign someone

  1. Click + Assign on an empty slot.
  2. Officials are listed alphabetically by last name. Type in the search box to filter by name, or toggle Verified Only to see just officials with a background check on file.
  3. Click an official's name to select them.
  4. Choose how far to apply it: This slot only, All games on this field today, Morning games only, or Afternoon games only, then click Apply.

For age-based sports (baseball, softball, fastpitch), an age-group dropdown appears in the popover so you can tag the division at the same time you make the assignment.

Preferred complex

If an official has noted a preferred complex (from Teddy, an availability upload, or a manual edit, see O-03), it shows next to their availability in the picker as "Prefers [complex]." It's informational only; it doesn't filter the list or stop you from assigning them elsewhere.

Good to know

  • Need someone who isn't in your group yet? Click + Add one-off official inside the assign popover to add them without leaving the page.
  • To see who's covering a game, click an already-assigned official's name to open a crew list for that game/field, or click the small × next to their name to remove that one assignment.
  • Assignment doesn't automatically respect availability. The assign popover shows availability as a note next to each name (and grays out anyone marked unavailable for that time), but it's still up to you to pick the right person.
