How do pay dates work, and when does the money move?

Leave the pay date empty and it uses the earliest available date, about three business days out. Same-day and next-day pay aren't available. Your account is debited about two business days before the pay date, and pay arrives by direct deposit on the pay date.

Where:

Payroll → Approve & Pay → pay date.

Choosing a pay date

  • Leave it empty to use the earliest available date, about three business days out.
  • Pay dates are weekdays only and skip bank holidays.
  • You can pick a later weekday if you prefer.

If you pick a date that's too soon, you'll see "The earliest pay date available now is [date]. Choose that date or later." If you pick a weekend or holiday, you'll see "[date] is a weekend or bank holiday. Choose a weekday."

When the money moves

  1. You click Approve and pay.
  2. About two business days before the pay date, one total amount for the whole run comes out of your funding account. Tourney Direct never holds your money.
  3. Pay arrives by direct deposit on the pay date.
  4. As soon as you approve, Teddy texts each person that their pay is on its way and the day it arrives. See PR-09.

Which pay period am I paying?

Pay is saved to the pay period you're in when you enter it. If the period has just ended and pay was entered in it, Approve & Pay shows that period automatically. See PR-07.

Good to know

  • Pay schedule options are Weekly, Bi-weekly, Semi-monthly, and Monthly. If none is set, payroll is monthly. See PR-03.
  • Make sure your funding account can cover the full run by the debit date.
