How do coaches answer, and can they change their answer?

Coaches reply YES or NO to Teddy's text, or tap Yes, I'll attend or No, I can't make it in the email. They can change their answer as many times as they like until RSVPs close, and the latest answer always counts. Teddy confirms each change by text.

By text

Teddy understands plain YES and NO and the everyday ways people say it, like "Y", "yep", "count me in", "can't make it" or "not attending". If Teddy isn't sure, he asks again rather than guessing.

  • A coach who says yes gets a confirmation with a link to add the event to their calendar.
  • Saying the same answer twice is saved in their history but doesn't send another confirmation.
  • A coach invited to more than one of your events is asked which event they mean.
  • A coach who also has an open stipend offer or assignment is asked which one they're answering, so an RSVP "yes" can never accept a paid offer by mistake.

By email

The buttons open the coach's RSVP page, which records their answer and shows it back to them. From there they can change it, add the event to their calendar, or sign up for text updates.

Setting an answer yourself

If a coach tells you in person, click their name, choose Attending, Not attending or No response, and click Save. It's logged under your name, the coach is not notified, and it works even after RSVPs close.

Good to know

  • RSVPs close when the event starts, unless you set an earlier date under Actions → RSVP settings → RSVPs close. After that, coaches are told RSVPs are closed and to contact you.
  • Coaches can also ask Teddy questions. He answers parking, location, date and schedule questions from your event details. Anything else is passed to you under Needs attention, and Teddy tells the coach you'll follow up. See RV-06.
